When was Parkmont established?

6:1 student to teacher ratio.
What is your average class size?
Six to twelve students.
What is Parkmont's total enrollment?
No more than 65 students.
Is the school affiliated with any religion?
No, Parkmont is non-sectarian.
Is Parkmont accredited or affiliated with any certification organizations?
Parkmont is an independent school accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS). It is a member of Washington's independent school group Independent Education (IE), National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Washington Small Schools Association, the Black Student Fund.
Is there an admissions test?
Parkmont does not require any admissions testing. However, if available, parents should submit recent educational testing with the application. Students are given informal writing and math assessments during the visit to the school.
What is the application deadline?
Admissions at Parkmont operates on a rolling basis, which means that we accept students as they apply. Priority is given to early applicants and it is recommended that applications be made by the end of March for the following school year, as the number of spaces is limited. How much is tuition?
Our 2013-2014 tuition is $29,800.
Does Parkmont offer financial aid?
Yes. Parkmont offers need-based financial aid grants on a first come first served basis. We strive to provide a level of financial aid that precludes any family's "money issues" from being a barrier to admissions. However, the financial aid fund is finite and thus the earlier a family applies for aid the better. For more information, visit the Tuition & Fees page.
Where are most Parkmont families from geographically?
50% come from Washington, DC; 45% from Maryland; remaining 5% from Virginia.
What are the school's hours?
The student's school day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Do you provide transportation?
No. Parkmont does not provide transportation to and from school. Many students utilize the Metro and bus to get to/from school. There are several bus stops located in front of the school. The S-2 and S-4 Metro buses stop in front of or nearby the school.
How many student computers do you have?
Parkmont has 25 desktop computers and 15 laptops that are accessible for students throughout the day.
Are uniforms required?
Parkmont does not require uniforms but has established dress code guidelines.
Does Parkmont have a cafeteria or food service?
Parkmont does not have a cafeteria. Students bring their own lunches to school (microwaves are available) and on Tuesdays and Thursdays the school has pizza delivered which students can buy.
