College of the Holy Cross- B.A. Psychology, Minors- French, Africana Studies (2008); Central Connecticut State University- M.S. Educational Leadership (2013)
I’m Meara (rhymes with Sara)! I was born and raised in beautiful (yet often cold!) Albany, New York where most of my very large extended family still lives. I received a B.A. in psychology with minors in French and Africana Studies from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University. I began my career in education 15 years ago, first serving as a teacher and principal at a small private school in Hartford, CT. I then moved to the D.C. area, and I most recently held the role of Head of School at Fusion Academy Washington D.C. before having my second daughter in June 2021.
Some fun facts about me are that I studied abroad for a year in Cameroon and that I have run many half marathons and two Ragnar Relays. When not at Parkmont, I can be found with my husband chasing after our two daughters who are both under 3, and also traveling, drawing, and enjoying the outdoors.
I am grateful to work alongside the very talented and kindhearted colleagues and students here at Parkmont. It brings me great joy to help families who have been searching for the right school for their children to find, and fall in love with, our community.
