New York University, B.A. English Literature, minor in Creative Writing (1999); University of Miami, M.F.A. Fiction (2007)

I arrived at Parkmont in 2003 after a stint at the Latin American Youth Center’s Upward Bound program piqued my interest in working with young people. I was initially here part-time as an afternoon class teacher, and then a full-time opportunity to manage the front office and teach a reading group emerged. I’m a graduate of New York University, where I received a B.A. in English Literature, and I have an MFA in fiction from the University of Miami. Currently, I teach both middle school English and an upper school reading group. I also head internship and college prep programs, as well as school events.

A favorite Parkmont adventure would be our upper school adventure trips. We take an afternoon off every 5 weeks or so to kayak or bike ride or even trampoline, and the break in the regular routine is always right on time.

These days, outside of work, there’s a good chance I’m biking around the city with my husband and son… or doing a virtual dance workout.
