Each year for the past 40 years, Parkmont School has been celebrating the creative talents of the District of Columbia’s middle and secondary school students by sponsoring the Parkmont Poetry Festival.

Eligibility, Submission & Deadline Details:
- The 41st Parkmont Poetry Festival Awards Ceremony and Poetry Reading is scheduled for April 29th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
- The 2022 poem submission deadline is February 17, 2023.
- Open to students attending a District of Columbia public, private or charter school in Grades 6-12
- Limit of 2 poems per student
- Submissions must be typed; no artwork, please
- Please fill out the Poetry Entry Form and include it with your poem so that we have the student’s name, home phone, school, grade, and teacher’s name.
- Poet’s name and/or school must NOT appear on the poem itself.
